Public Meeting at Hoole Community Centre, April 7th

Thank you to all who attended our meeting yesterday at the Hoole Community Centre. There was much lively debate with NUT and NASUWT representatives endeavouring, though not succeeding, to dominate the meeting. However, feedback from those genuinely interested in the free school was that our passion for the transformational power of education shone through. We were very happy with the number attending and we hope to announce a date for a second public meeting soon. Watch this space! A number of people offered their support before departing. We are very grateful to them and we will be in touch with them. Thank you to the people who asked perceptive and searching questions which gave us the opportunity to demonstrate our credentials and our vision. Visit to the Palace of Westminster

On Wednesday 26th March, Vim and Pauline visited Virginie Raymond whose company runs a STEM 16-19 College in Islington, called STEM6. Its website is at http://stemacademy.org.uk/.  The college is not offering exactly the same kind of curriculum that we intend to offer, but we gained some very useful advice and support. After that, we went to the Palace of Westminster as we had been invited to meet the Rt. Ho, Stephen Mosley, MP for Chester. He is also on the select committee for science and technology. He was extremely helpful, and has offered to advertise the college. He is offering advice and help in many ways, but we are especially pleased because he suggested premises to us. If we can get the DfE’s support when we apply in September, the premises he suggested (easily reached from the centre of Chester) would be perfect. We are really grateful to...
